About FATIMA

Happily living with LADA, aka “Diabetes type 1.5”!

It all started in June 2017.

Here I am sharing my story of how the biggest shock of my life turned into a gift that keeps on giving.

These are the unedited notes of my daily experiences and struggles. It is meant to raise awareness about Diabetes LADA as this is the less recognized type of diabetes and often many with LADA are misdiagnosed as type 2 diabetes.

When LADA came to my life, what most helped me was reading stories and books of those who came before me.

So this is my share of giving back to those who come after me in terms of providing them with useful and practical information as well as letting them know they are not alone.

I am an Executive and Leadership development Coach and facilitator by profession. I work with executives and teams in corporates and I have “inspiring people” in my DNA. Through my work and my daily life, I make sure I do something everyday to live up to that.

Living with LADA also led me to start a new line of coaching with my clients. The way I managed my diabetes and how I changed my lifestyle and what I learned on the way, added a new focus to my work. In addition to my corporate coaching, I now work with many clients on wellness and life style change.

LADA changed my life forever like nothing else has ever had (at least not this drastically).

I used all the tools I had learned in all my self-development/coaching/ leadership trainings to be able to turn my life around and I did it with grace and much humility.

Not many people know about my new life. I have not been shying away from it, but I haven’t openly talked about it either.

This space is not only about people with diabetes. This is about the balance between mind, body and soul. It is about healthy life style, respecting own body and being in sync with life.

I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I am married and have 2 boys.

I appreciate interacting with the readers and know how to add more value to them. Please write to me in service of better quality of life and support of each other as I believe we are all connected and interrelated. What one does will effect others and all the cycles of life.

On the first anniversary of this big event in my life, I am ready to share my journey with all of you and I know that the best is yet to come.
